The retail trade turnover index moved from a year-on-year change rate of 15.3% in February 2022, to 12.9% in March 2022. This growth reflects a base effect, particularly in non food products, once March 2021 was marked by a new general confinement.
The indices of employment, wages and salaries and hours worked adjusted of calendar effects presented year-on-year change rates of 4.5%, 9.3% and 18.4%, respectively (4.4%, 7.5% and 22.4% in the previous month, by the same order).
In the 1rst quarter 2022, sales in retail trade, presented a year on year change rate of 12.9% (growth of 7.6% in the 4th quarter 2021). In nominal terms, retail trade turnover index presented a year on year change rate of 19.5% (11.7% in the previous quarter).
