Summary
This statistical analysis on construction is composed of two volumes that differ in the geographic context (volume 1 - Metropolitan Areas; volume 2 - Counties (concelhos) with Middle Cities). Its aim is to characterise the construction phenomena, namely, in a quantitative way. Although it is a current subject, its quantification was clearly not well investigated. Moreover, the study also presents a characterisation of the dynamics in the construction of residential buildings in the period 1994-98, along with a presentation of the main housing characteristics by the time of the last Housing Census (1991).
