In August, the year-on-year rate of change of services turnover was -2.2%, down by 9.2 percentage points compared to the observed in July. This decline was partially due to calendar effects (plus one working day in July and less two in August compared with the same months in 2007). Employment and wages and salaries rose by 0.5% and 3.8%, respectively, while hours worked decreased by 2.8%.
