• The active population (5,207.8 thousand) increased by 0.1% from August 2022, by 0.4% from June of that year, and by 0.7% from September 2021.
• The employed population (4,889.0 thousand) remained, in relative terms, practically unchanged from the previous month and has increased both from three months before (0.2%) and from one year earlier (1.0%).
• The unemployed population (318.8 thousand) increased by 1.6% from August and by 2.7% from June, having decreased by 2.6% from September 2021.
• The unemployment rate stood at 6.1%, up 0.1 percentage points (pp) from both the previous month and from three months before but down 0.2 pp from a year earlier.
• The inactive population (2,450.1 thousand) decreased from the three periods under comparison: by 0.2%, 0.9% and 2.4%, respectively.
• The labour underutilisation rate was estimated at 11.3%, down 0.1 pp from the previous month, down 0.2% from three months before and down 0.6 pp from the same month of 2021.
October 2022:
• The active population (5,197.6 thousand) decreased by 0.2% from September and by 0.1% from July, having increased by 0.5% from October 2021.
• The employed population (4,881.0 thousand) has also decreased from the previous months and from three months before (0.2% from both months) and increased from a year earlier (0.7%).
• The unemployed population (316.6 thousand) decreased by 0.7% from September 2022 and by 3.5% from October 2021, having increased by 1.9% from July 2022.
• The unemployment rate stood at 6.1%, remaining unchanged from September, increasing from July (0.1 pp) and decreasing from one year earlier (0.2 pp).
• The inactive population (2,460.5 thousand) increased from the previous month and from three months earlier (0.4% and 0.1%, respectively) and decreased from one year before (1.9%).
• The labour underutilisation rate stood at 11.4%, up 0.1 pp from the previous month, down 0.1 pp from three months before and down 0.3 pp from the same month of 2021.
