(1) From January 1st, 2015 came into force a new version of NUTS (NUTS 2013). At NUTS II level was just a name change in "Lisboa" which became known as "Área Metropolitana de Lisboa".
(2) In 2017, the Portuguese Nurses Association made available the online platform "Balcão Único" for dematerialized data recording by its members and launched several awareness campaigns to update the data, namely the data related to the working place, which resulted in relevant differences in the number of nurses in some municipalities and NUTS 3 in relation to 2016.
