(1) Values for 2023 are provisional. Data on crimes against pet animals were eliminated, as other situations not corresponding to the concept of victims identified were being improperly considered. In the years 1998 to 2004 are included agents/suspects identified in crimes recorded by the Public Security Police, National Republican Guard and National Republican Guard - Traffic Squad. In the years 2005 to 2008 are included agents/suspects identified in crimes recorded by the Public Security Police, National Republican Guard, National Republican Guard - Traffic Squad and National Republican Guard - Fiscal Guard. For reasons of extinction of these police forces, in the years 2009 to 2013 did not include data from National Republican Guard - Traffic Squad and National Republican Guard - Fiscal Guard. Data on crimes against pet animals is the result of the entry into force of Law no. 69/2014 of August 29.
(2) In 2017 the Municipal Police framework has been changed given the fact that it gained autonomy as a police force. For this reason, data on this police force are no longer included in data regarding the Public Security Police and all related data has been updated accordingly. Statistical data on registered crimes by the Customs Tax Authority regarding the year 2017 were collected based on a new webservice that replaced the previous collection procedure.
