Lodging capacity (No.) in hotel establishments by Geographic localization (NUTS - 2013) and Type (hotel establishment); Annual - Statistics Portugal, Guests stays and other data on hotel activity survey
Note(s):
(1) From January 1st, 2015 came into force a new version of NUTS (NUTS 2013). At NUTS II level was just a name change in "Lisboa" which became known as "Área Metropolitana de Lisboa".
(2) In 2014, values in column "Total" include, besides hotel establishments, those related to tourism in rural areas, lodging tourism and new local accommodation units. For this reason, those values do not correspond to the sum of the remaining columns.
From 2014 to 2017, values for Portugal and for Autonomous Region of Açores do not include local accommodation in Autonomous Region of Açores given the different methodology applied.
(3) Local accommodation with 10 or more beds on the Mainland and Autonomous Region of Açores and with no minimum capacity limit in Autonomous Region of Madeira.
(4) A new data series with additional types of tourist accommodation is available.
