(1) Adulthood refers to the period of a person¿s life when experienced violence (since the age of 15 for non-partner violence and lifetime for intimate partner violence). People with partner includes people who have current spouses or girlfriends/boyfriends and/or former spouses or girlfriends/boyfriends. Non-partner violence refers to experiences of violence with people other than spouses or boyfriends/girlfriends or partners from the age of 15. Physical violence includes threats.
