ELECTRONIC COMMERCE: Business process conducted via Internet Protocol-based networks or via other computer-mediated networks. The goods and services are ordered over those networks, but the payment and the ultimate delivery of the good or service may be conducted on or off-line. Orders received via telephone, facsimile, or manually typed e-mails are not counted as electronic commerce.

REFERENCE PERIOD: Period to which the information refers and which may be a specific day or a time interval (month, fiscal year, calendar year, among others).

E-COMMERCE: Orders received or placed on a webpage through an extranet or other application using the internet as a platform, such as EDI(by internet), Minitel (by internet) or another network application, irrespective of the device providing the access (e.g. by mobile phone, television, etc.).Payment and final delivery of the goods or services may be made on-line or off-line. In addition to all the internet transactions mentioned above, it also includes orders received or placed by EDI or any other on-line application using automated transactions (e.g. Minitel, interactive phone systems). Orders received or placed by fax or phone are not included.

RESIDENT POPULATION: Set of persons who, regardless of being present or absent in a given housing unit at the moment of observation, have lived in the place of their usual residence for a continuous period of 12 months prior to the moment of observation, or have arrived to the place of their usual residence during the period of 12 months prior to the moment of observation, with the purpose of living there for a year, at least.
