Concepts
  • ELECTRONIC COMMERCE:  Business process conducted via Internet Protocol-based networks or via other computer-mediated networks. The goods and services are ordered over those networks, but the payment and the ultimate delivery of the good or service may be conducted on or off-line. Orders received via telephone, facsimile, or manually typed e-mails are not counted as electronic commerce.
  • INTERNET:  The connection to the set of global computer networks interlinked by the TCP/IP protocol (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), where data and service servers are located (FTP, WWW, email, etc.).
  • REGIONAL ADMINISTRATION:  This sub-sector includes administrations that, asdistinct institutional units, perform administrative functions at a lowerlevel than the central government and at a higher level than local government, with theexception of regional social security fund administrations. Their area ofoperation extends to the economic territory covered by each region.
  • REFERENCE PERIOD:  Period to which the information refers and which may be a specific day or a time interval (month, fiscal year, calendar year, among others).
