Observations The Localization quotient of the foreign population is a measure of location, in the sense that it makes it possible to assess the relative weight of the foreign population in a given region compared to the weight of that population in national terms. When calculating the LQ, the relative importance of the foreign population in the region is compared with the importance of that same population in a standard region, in this case the national one. The results of LQ should be read as follows: values below 1 mean that the weight of the foreign population in the region is less than the weight of that population in national terms, while values above 1 mean that the weight of that population in the region is greater than in national terms.
