Concepts
  • WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM:  The group of equipments to distribute water to consumers' houses, in good quantitative and qualitative status. As a whole, a water supply system is composed of the following: abstraction, lifting station, pipeline, tank, distribution pipeline and distribution network.
  • ABSTRACTION OF WATER:  The abstraction of water is deemed to be the use of quantities of surface or underground water withdrawn from water resources by any means, irrespective of the end use reserved for the same. Water can be abstracted for the following uses, with or without containment: a) Human consumption; b) Irrigation; c) Industrial activity; d) Electricity generation; e) Recreational or leisure activities.
