Concepts
  • EMPLOYED:  All persons aged 15 or over who during the reference period were in the following categories: 1) persons who performed some work for a wage or salary, in cash or in kind; 2) persons who, having already worked in their present job, were temporarily not at work and had a formal attachment to their job; 3) persons with an enterprise, who were temporarily not at work for any specific reason.; 4) persons who were offered early retirement, but were working in the reference period.
  • REFERENCE PERIOD:  The length of time for which data are collected, e.g. a specific day, month or year.
  • MARRIAGE:  The contract entered into by two persons of the opposite sex that intend to found a family in partnership and cohabitation.
  • ECONOMIC ACTIVITY:  Combination of resources such as labour, raw materials, equipment, etc., are joined, leading to the creation of specific goods or services. Regardless of the factors of production integrating the good or service produced, all activities generically imply an input of products (goods or services), a production process and an output of products (goods or services).
  • EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  The dependency or independency relationship of an active person in the practice of the profession, according to the economic risks involved and to the nature of his/her control within the enterprise.
  • PLACE OF REGISTRATION:  The location of the registry office where a birth, marriage or death was recorded. In the case of a divorce, it is the registry office or court of law where it was decreed.
Definition With Law no. 9/ 2010 of May 31, civil marriage can be held between persons of the same sex. MARRIAGE - Contract signed by two persons that intend to start a family in full partnership and cohabitation according to legislation.
