COOPSTAT NEWS N.º 18 14 This activity aimed to support the NSI Cabo Verde in the context of the last phase of implementation of the new CPI. The visit had a strong practical component, resulting on a set of technical recommendations focused on enabling the implementation and dissemination of this indicator in 2019. This activity was led by the Cooperation Activities Unit, also responsible for the development of the CPI production application, currently in use in Cabo Verde. Nos dias 5 e 6 de dezembro, equipas do Secretariado do Conselho Superior de Estatística (CSE), do Serviço Jurídico e Contencioso e do Serviço de Relações Externas e Cooperação acolheram no INE o Presidente do CNEST, Raimundo Lopes. Na visita, o Presidente do CNEST apresentou o ponto de situação do Sistema Estatístico de Cabo Verde e do CNEST e foi partilhada a experiência portuguesa em vários domínios: funcionamento do CSE e do seu Secretariado, legislação enquadradora do Sistema Estatístico Nacional (SEN) e articulação entre os vários órgãos do SEN. Nesta ação foram ainda abordados com maior profundidade os processos de revisão da Lei do SEN, com destaque para o papel do Conselho nesse contexto, e questões relacionadas com o segredo estatístico. On 5 and 6 December, teams from the Statistical Council Secretariat, the Legal Unit and the External Relations and Cooperation Unit have welcomed the President of the Statistical Council from Cabo Verde (CNEST), Raimundo Lopes. In this visit, the President of CNEST presented the state of play of both the statistical system of Cabo Verde and the CNEST and learned on the Portuguese experience regarding several relevant domains, namely: functioning of the National Statistical Council and its Secretariat, statistical legislation and the relation between the several bodies of the National Statistical System (NSS). The processes of the NSS Law revision (and the role of the Statistical Council in this context) and issues related to statistical confidentiality were also discussed in more depth.
