COOPSTAT NEWS N.º 19 10 O INE da Guiné Equatorial (INEGE) acolheu, entre 15 e 17 de Julho, a VIII Conferência Estatística da CPLP, que teve lugar no Centro de Congressos de Sipopo, em Malabo. O INE-PT participou neste evento, tendo sido representado pelo seu Presidente, Francisco Lima, pela Diretora do Serviço de Relações Externas e Cooperação, Conceição Veiga, e pela Técnica Superior do mesmo Serviço, Carolina Fresta Santos, que se deslocou em missão de apoio à organização da Conferência. A Conferência realizou-se sob o lema: “Avançando com os dados como guia”, particularmente desenvolvido nos dias reservados ao Seminário, dedicados à temática dos dados administrativos e à monitorização de indicadores ODS. Em reunião restrita aos Presidentes e DGs de Estatística foi possível discutir e deliberar sobre prioridades da cooperação estatística, abrangendo intervenções sobre balanço e perspetivas de futuro relativamente aos programas de capacitação estatística no quadro da CPLP. A Conferência assinalou a estreia do INEGE no acolhimento deste tipo de eventos. O INEGE tem vindo a participar nas iniciativas de cooperação estatística no âmbito da CPLP, desde 2017. Para além de possibilitar a discussão de assuntos prioritários na área da estatística, este evento permitiu igualmente o fortalecimento dos laços de amizade e cooperação entre todos os INEs, através de momentos de saudável convívio. The National Statistical Institute from Equatorial Guinea (INEGE) hosted, from 15 to 17 July, the VIII CPLP Statistical Conference, which took place at Sipopo Convention Centre, located in the capital city of Malabo. Statistics Portugal was represented by its President, Mr. Francisco Lima, by the Head of the External Relati ons and Cooperation Unit, Ms. Conceição Veiga, and by the expert of the same Unit, Ms. Carolina Fresta Santos, who supported the organization of the event through a technical assistance mission. The Conference was held under themotto: “Moving forward, through the guidance of data”, which was particularly discussed during the Seminar, held under the topics “administrative data” and “SDG monitoring”. The meeting restricted to Presidents and Director Generals from the CPLP NSIs allowed for discussing and deliberating on priorities for statistical cooperation, covering sessions on the overview and future prospects for statistical capacity programmes in the framework of CPLP. The Conference marked INEGE’s debut in hosting this type of event. INEGE has been participating in the statistical cooperation initiatives within the CPLP since 2017. In addition to enabling discussion of priority statistical matters, this event also allowed the strengthening of ties of friendship and cooperation among all NSIs, through moments of healthy conviviality.
