COOPSTAT NEWS N.º 21 5 Cooperação com os Países de Língua Portuguesa Cooperation with Portuguese-speaking Countries EM FOCO HIGHLIGHTS Decorridos cerca de 2 anos desde o último encontro entre Presidentes e Diretores-gerais dos INEs da CPLP (IX Conferência Estatística da CPLP, Malabo, 2019), realizou-se a 26 de novembro, em formato virtual, o primeiro encontro informal desta natureza. O evento possibilitou a apresentação de novos membros da comunidade, entretanto empossados, e a discussão de assuntos de interesse comum. Em resposta ao desafio lançado pelo INE de Portugal, todos os INEs dos 9 países da CPLP (Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Guiné Equatorial, Moçambique, Portugal, S. Tomé e Príncipe e Timor-Leste) responderam favoravelmente, fazendo-se representar ao mais alto-nível. No encontro foram abordadas temáticas de relevância transversal para os parceiros, das quais se destacam: o ponto de situação da cooperação, nomeadamente as possibilidades de retoma do Programa Estatístico da CPLP, suspenso desde 2020 devido à pandemia; a situação em cada país quanto à última ronda dos Censos da População eHabitação e os desafios colocados à produção estatística pela pandemia Covid-19. Almost two years on from the last meeting between Presidents and Directors General of the CPLP NSIs (IX CPLP Statistical Conference, Malabo, 2019), the first informal meeting of this nature was held on 26 November, in virtual format. The event made it possible to welcome new members of the community who have taken office since the last gathering, and to discuss matters of common interest. Responding to the challenge set out by Statistics Portugal, all NSIs from the 9 CPLP countries (Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea- Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste) responded favourably, being represented at the highest level. Themeeting addressed issues of cross-cutting relevance for the partners, including: the current state of cooperation, namely the possibilities of resuming the CPLP Statistical Programme, suspended since 2020 due to the pandemic; the situation in each country regarding the latest round of the Population and Housing Censuses and the challenges posed to statistical production by the Covid-19 pandemic.
