COOPSTAT NEWS N.º 24 6 Cooperação com os Países de Língua Portuguesa Cooperation with Portuguese-speaking Countries Missões ao INE de Timor-Leste nas áreas de Difusão, Geoinformação e Legislação | Technical assistance missions to NSI Timor Leste in the areas of Dissemination, Geoinformation and Legislation De 5 a 9 de junho realizaram-se três missões de assistência técnica, realizadas em paralelo, ao INE de Timor-Leste. As missões foram asseguradas pelos colegas: Ana Santos (Diretora do Serviço de Geoinformação), Ana Dulce Pinto (Encarregada de Proteção de Dados e jurista) e José Pinto Martins (Diretor do Serviço de Difusão), responsáveis pelos Projetos de Geoinformação, Legislação e Difusão, respetivamente. Estas atividades decorreram num período crítico de consolidação institucional para TimorLeste, decorrente da transição do estatuto de Direção Geral de Estatística para Instituto Nacional de Estatística. From 5 to 9 June, three technical assistance missions, conducted in parallel, to the NSI of Timor-Leste were held. The missions were carried out by colleagues: Ms. Ana Santos (Director of the Geoinformation Unit), Ms. Ana Dulce Pinto (Data Protection Officer and legal expert) and Mr. José Pinto Martins (Director of the Dissemination Unit), responsible for the Geoinformation, Legislation and Dissemination Projects, respectively. These activities took place in a critical period of institutional consolidation for Timor-Leste, resulting from the transition from Directorate General of Statistics to National Statistics Institute. A missão na área da legislação estatística pretendeu contribuir para explorar, consolidar e desenvolver o Sistema Estatístico Nacional (SEN), no quadro do novo estatuto institucional do INE-TL, aprovado em fevereiro de 2023. Foram analisados os diplomas legais que enquadram a atividade do instituto, bem como os desenvolvimentos que se perspetivam (ex. Lei do Sistema Estatístico Nacional). Esta atividade beneficiou da articulação com o Ministério das Finanças de Timor-Leste (tutela governativa), tendo sido agraciada pela participação ativa do Presidente do INE-TL. The mission on statistical legislation aimed to contribute to the exploration, consolidation and development of the National Statistical System (NSS), within the framework of the new institutional statute of NSI-TL, approved in February 2023. The legal framework of the institute was analysed, as well as the developments that are foreseen (e.g. Law of the National Statistical System). This activity benefited from the articulation with the Ministry of Finance of Timor-Leste (overseeing ministry) and had the active participation of the President of NSI-TL.
