182 | Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável | Sustainable Development Goals Passenger transport by air 1 (measured in passenger- kilometers - pkm), showed a successive annual increase between 2011 and 2014, decreasing in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, the highest value of the period was recorded (37.1 billion pkm), which represented an increase of 25.8% over 2016. Road transport, with 7.4 billion pkm in 2017, showed a small decrease compared to 2016, after increasing in 2016. In relation to rail passenger transport, 2017 presents an increase of 6.7% compared to 2010, reaching 4.4 billion pkm 2 , with successive growth since 2014. In 2017, road freight transport (measured in tonnes- kilometer - tkm) was slightly lower than in 2010 ( 1.6%), reaching 34.1 billion tkm. On the other hand, the transport of cargo by air and rail increased by 10.5% and 18.9% over 2010. O transporte de passageiros por via aérea 1 (medido em unidade passageiros-quilómetro - pkm) registou, em2017, o valor mais elevado (37,1mil milhões pkm), que correspondeu a um aumento de 25,8% face a 2016. Evidenciou acréscimos anuais sucessivos entre 2011 e 2014, registando decréscimos em 2015 e 2016. O transporte rodoviário, com 7,4 mil milhões pkm em 2017, registou um ligeiro decréscimo face a 2016, depois do aumento registado em2016. No que concerne ao transporte de passageiros por ferrovia, 2017 apresentou umacréscimo de 6,7% face a 2010, atingindo 4,4 mil milhões pkm 2 , com crescimentos sucessivos desde 2014. Em 2017, o transporte rodoviário de mercadorias (medido em toneladas-quilómetro - tkm) decresceu ligeiramente face a 2010 (-1,6%), atingindo 34,1 mil milhões de tkm.
