When compared toGross Domestic Product (GDP), it allows measuring the relative importance of this branch. Between 2010 and 2018, the share of value added generated by manufacturing in the national GDP increased (+0.9 pp), as a consequence of the higher growth of manufacturing GVA vis-à-vis GDP, observed in all the years except in 2018. In 2018, the share of value added generated by manufacturing in the national GDPwas 12.0%, slightly less than in 2017 (12.2%). In the EU28, in the period under review, this indicator alsoshowedanupwards trend, registering, throughout the series, higher values than those observed for Portugal. Indicador 9.2.1. Valor acrescentado da indústria transformadora em percentagem do PIB e per capita O valor acrescentado da indústria transformadora é um indicador do nível de industrialização de uma economia. Quando comparado com o Produto Interno Bruto (PIB), permite medir a importância relativa deste ramo. Entre 2010 e 2018, verificou-se um aumento do peso do valor acrescentado gerado pela indústria transformadora no PIB nacional (+0,9 p.p.), em consequência do maior crescimento do VAB da indústria transformadora face ao PIB verificado em todos os anos, à exceção de 2018. Em 2018 o peso do valor acrescentado gerado pela indústria transformadora no PIB nacional foi de 12,0%, ligeiramente inferior ao de 2017 (12,2%). Na UE28, no período em análise, este indicador também apresentou uma tendência ascendente, registando, em toda a série, valores superiores aos observados para Portugal. Indicator 9.2.1.
