220 | Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável | Sustainable Development Goals No ano de 2017 foram recolhidos em Portugal cerca de 5,0 milhões de toneladas de resíduos urbanos (RU) (+115mil toneladas relativamente a 2016), o que se traduz num rácio de 486,6 quilogramas de RU gerados por habitante (+12,3 kg habitante/ano do que o gerado em 2016). Entre 2016 e 2017, apesar do aumento absoluto dos RUgerados, aevoluçãodo ráciodeRUrecolhidospor unidadedePIBrevelouumdecréscimo(número índice de 95,2 em 2016 para 94,8 em 2017) justificado por uma variação positiva do PIB superior à dos resíduos gerados, o que traduz uma melhoria na perspetiva de dissociar a produção de resíduos do crescimento económico. In 2017 approximately 5.0 million tonnes of urban waste were collected in Portugal (+115 thousand tonnes compared to 2016), which correspond to a ratio of 486.6 kilograms of urban waste generated per inhabitant (+12.3 kg inhabitant/year than the one generated in 2016).
