A proporção de pessoas em risco de pobreza em Portugal é superior ao valor obtido para aUE28, com diferenças mais expressivas em 2013 e 2014. Deentreos váriosgrupospopulacionais, emPortugal são as crianças que com maior frequência são afetadas pelo risco de pobreza: em 2017, 19,0% da populaçãocommenosde18anosviviaemcondições de pobreza, face a 16,7% da população em idade ativa e 17,7% da população idosa. No período em análise, o risco de pobreza para as crianças foi particularmente elevado entre 2012 e 2014, com 24,4%, 25,6% e 24,8%. Oriscodepobrezaafetaoshomenseasmulheresde forma distinta, mas com diferenças mais pequenas do que as registadas entre grupos etários: em 2017, 17,9% das mulheres e 16,6% dos homens eram pobres. In Portugal, 17.3% of residents were at-risk-of-poverty in 2017, 1.0 pp less than in 2016 and 2.2 pp less than in 2013 and 2014, also being the first year of the decade with a lower proportion than in 2010 (18.0%). The proportion of people at-risk-of-poverty in Portugal is higher than in the EU28, with particularly significant differences in 2013 and 2014. In Portugal, children are the population group most affectedby the risk of poverty: in2017, 19.0%of people under 18 were at-risk-of poverty, vis-à-vis 16.7% of working age adults and 17.7% of the elderly. In the period under review, the risk of poverty for children was particularly high between 2012 and 2014, with 24.4%, 25.6% and 24.8%. The risk of poverty affectsmen andwomen differently, however with differences that are smaller than those between different age groups: in 2017, 17.9% of women and 16.6% of men were poor.
