Em Portugal, mais de metade da população com 18 ou mais anos (4,5 milhões) tinha excesso de peso ou obesidade em 2014, tal como na UE28, mas em proporções mais elevadas (36,4% com excesso de peso vs. 34,8%naUE28, e 16,4%comobesidade vs. 15,4% na UE28). In Portugal, as in the EU context, the indicator chosen is the prevalence of obesity (reference indicator at EU28 level). In Portugal, the majority of the population aged 18 and over (4.5 million) was overweight or obese in 2014, similarly to the EU28 but in higher proportions (36.4% overweight vs. 34.8% in the EU28 and 16.4% for obesity vs. 15.4% in the EU28).
