Portugal ficou muito aquém, com 201,9 mil toneladas, ou seja, 5,0% do total. POPULAÇÃO EMPREGADA NA AGRICULTURA, SILVICULTURA E PESCA Ambos os países ibéricos têm uma percentagem reduzida da sua população empregada a trabalhar no setor “Agricultura, silvicultura e pescas”. Em 2018, os valores registados foram 3,8% em Portugal e 4,2% em Espanha. Entre os países da UE, os valores mais elevado e mais baixo para este indicador foram 19,8% (Roménia) e 0,9% (Bélgica, Luxemburgo, Malta e Reino Unido). FISH CATCHES In 2018, Spain caught the most fish of all the European Union countries: 879.4 thousand tonnes, corresponding to 21.8% of the total fish caught by the EU countries. Portugal stood quite behind at just 201.9 thousand tonnes, i.e. 5.0% of the total. EMPLOYMENT IN AGRICULTURE, FORESTRY AND FISHERIES Both Iberian countries have a low percentage of their employed population in the Agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector. In 2018, the values were 3.8% in Portugal and 4.2% in Spain. The highest figure for this indicator in the European Union was recorded in Romania (19.8%) and the lowest in Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, and the United Kingdom (0.9% for all). Portugal estaba muy por detrás con 201.900 toneladas, o el 5,0% del total. POBLACIÓN EMPLEADA EN AGRICULTURA, SILVICULTURA Y PESCA Ambos países ibéricos tienen un pequeño porcentaje de su población empleada trabajando en el sector “Agricultura, silvicultura y pesca”. En 2018, las cifras fueron: 3,8% en Portugal y 4,2% en España.
