In 123 of the 278 municipalities in mainland Portugal, the number of unemployed registered in employment centres during the month of March 2020 was higher than the corresponding flow in the same period of the previous year. Of these, 35 municipalities, mostly located in the Alentejo and Algarve regions, stand out for presenting, in March 2020, a flow of unemployed two times higher than the one registered in the same month of the previous year.
