Summary
The construction new orders index presented a year-on-year decrease of 16.8% in the 2nd quarter 2011 (-12.8% in the first quarter 2011). This trend was significantly influenced by the growth of the public sector component of Building Construction concerning school buildings observed in the 2nd quarter 2010. Excluding this component of the analysis, the construction new orders decreased by 6.3% year-on-year terms. Quarterly and average of the last four quarters change rates stood at 11.6% and -14.2%, respectively.
