Summary
In the period between January and March 2011 about 2.8 million tourism trips were made by residents in Portugal, which originated 7.7 million overnight stays. The main reason behind these movements was "visit to relatives or friends"  with a total of 1.4 million trips, followed by "leisure, recreation or holidays" that have originated about 909 thousand trips and "professional and business" with about 302 thousand trips.
