Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Hospitals
The proportion of hospitals with electronic medical records almost doubled in the last ten years

Summary
The computerization of medical activities kept the upward trend, specially the proportion of hospitals with electronic medical records which rise from 42% in 2004 to 83% in 2014.
In 2014, all hospitals access the internet, 97% with broadband access. The availability of hotspots for its users is ensured by 45% of hospitals, while 35% offer computer with internet access to in-patients.
A large majority of hospitals, 93%, are present on the internet, mainly through their own websites (87% of those present on the internet) or in the website managed by the Ministry of Health (19%). The percentage of hospitals offering online scheduling of medical consultations increased by more than 20 percentage points in recent years (8% in 2010 and 30% in 2014).
Of telemedicine, the most used was the teleradiology, i.e. the exchange of patient radiological, ultrasound-based, CT or MR images for case discussion and diagnosis.
