Movement of goods recovers in ports but reduces deeply in road and railway transport, Movement of passengers continues to grow with the emphasis on air transport - 3rd Quarter 2016

Summary

In national ports, in the 3rd quarter of 2016, the tonnage of goods handled increased by 9.7% (-1.0% in the 2nd quarter of 2016). Goods transported by railways registered reductions of 10.1% in tonnes and 8.3% in tonnes-kilometer (-4.1% and +3.9% in Q2 2016, in the same order). In road freight transport, the decrease (-7.3% in total tons) deepened compared to the previous quarter (-1.4%).
Considering passengers in national airports, there was an increase of 13.3% (+11.2% in the previous quarter). In heavy and light railway systems there were raises but less significant (+2.2% and +3.3%, respectively, after +2.1% and +10.1% in the second quarter).
