In 2016, there was a general increase in the main indicators of the non-financial enterprises. GVA and employment increased by 5.1% and 2.5%, respectively. The apparent labor productivity increased by 2.5%, to 23.14 thousand Euros. The returns of companies increased in 2016, along with the increase in the share of companies with positive net profits (+2.2 p.p. than in 2015).
The GVA in the non-exporting companies recorded a higher growth (6.5%) than in the exporting companies (3.1%).
By economic activity sectors, Hotels and restaurants stood out, as being the sector that recorded the most significant improvement in the main economic indicators in 2016, although it had continued to be the one in which the proportion of companies with negative net results of the period was greater.
