In the 1st quarter of 2018, national airports registered 10.6 million passengers, corresponding to an increase of 11.9% (+12.5% in the 4th Q 2017). Although less expressive, there were still increases in passengers in heavy rail transport (+3.3%, after +4.5% in the 4th Q) and light rail (+0.4%, +2.9% in the previous quarter). Also in inland waterways transport, there was a slowdown (+1.6%, +6.1% in the preceding quarter).
In terms of goods, the national maritime ports registered 21.4 million tons, corresponding to a reduction of 9.8% (-6.6% in the 4th Q 2017).
Goods transported by rail decreased 1.5% (+8.3% in the 4th Q), totalling 2.5 million tones. By road, goods transported changed slightly (+0.1%, +5.4% in the previous quarter), corresponding to a total of 41.3 million tons.
