Services turnover index, in nominal terms and adjusted for calendar and seasonal effects, presented a year-on-year change rate of 20.3% in June, 10.0 percentage points (p.p.) lower than the rate observed in the previous month. The 2nd quarter of 2021 recorded an increase of 30.4% over the same period in 2020 (-12.6% in the previous quarter). The strong increases observed reflect a base effect, as the comparison focuses on months significantly affected by the pandemic.
The month-on-month rate of change of the total index was 5.3% (0.6% in May).
The year-on-year change rates of the indices of employment, wages and salaries and number of hours worked adjusted of calendar effects were 0.1%, 8.4% and 9.8%, respectively (-0.7%, 10.3% and 23.4% in May, by the same order).
