In August 2009 the year-on-year change in new housing construction cost index on the mainland decreased 2.8%, up by 0.6 percentage points from the same rate obtained for July. The year-on-year change in housing regular maintenance and repair price index on the mainland rose 1.7%, decreasing 0.1 p.p. from the same rate in July.
