How can I have access to the value of the inflation rate for the previous year?

Reply

Inflation (rate) information is compiled and published by INE on a monthly basis, currently on the eighth business day of the month to which it refers, and its availability may be followed in the highlight calendar option, Prices theme, on the INE website at following link: Calendars. The inflation rate to be applied in a given year corresponds to the average rate of change of the last twelve months, verified in December of the previous year. Thus, and to access the desired data, you can do so by selecting the “Highlights” option, Prices theme, under the heading Consumer Price Index for the most recent months. Still here, you can view and access retrospective data of the same information, namely, months of previous years, through the option Previous Editions. For example on this link. Alternatively, the same information can be obtained through the “Products” subsystem in the Database by selecting the theme (Prices) and sub-theme (Consumer Prices) by selecting the desired Consumer Price Index indicator. The most requested tables in each theme are available in Top Tables, for example “Consumer Price Index (Base Rates 2012 -%) by Special Aggregates; Monthly" In indicators accessible under Products, database, pricing theme, consumer price sub-theme, for example: Consumer price index (Annual average growth rate - Base 2012 -%) by Geographic localization and Special aggregates; Monthly or Consumer Price Index (Annual average growth rate - Base 2012 -%) by Geographic localization and Individual consumption by objective; For annual data you have to access the following indicator: Consumer price index 1949 - 2018 (Annual average growth rate - Base 2012 -%) by Geographic localization and Special aggregates .
