Summary
This publication provides statistical information on Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Food Industry, organised in 15 chapters. The first chapter presents an analysis on agricultural production and economy in 2005. The main findings are presented in several tables and refer to Crop Production, Animal Production, Forestry, Economic Accounts for Agriculture and Forestry, Prices and Index Prices on Agriculture, Balance Sheets and Food Industry.
Some of the most important findings for year 2005, comparing with 2004, show:
In production terms: Cereals campaign: the worst of the last two decades; Industrial tomato: overtaking of the national processing quota for the second year Pear: production drops 30%; Olive oil and wine: superior quality; Bovine meat: decrease in production for adult animals; Cow’s milk: increase in production.
In economical terms: Decrease in output price index; Decrease in input price index; Decrease in Gross Value Added at current prices on Agriculture; Decrease in Agricultural Income.
