Peer Review 2022
Within the scope of the Peer Review on the implementation of the European Statistics Code of Practice by the Member States of the European Union, Statistics Portugal received the visit of the Peer Review experts from 19 to 23 September 2022, which also involved its observance by the 5 Entities with Statistical Delegated functions from Statistics Portugal - (the Other National Authorities - ONA).
This is the 3rd round of Peer Reviews carried out on the implementation of the European Statistics Code of Practice, the last two having been carried out in Portugal in 2008 and 2015.
The Peer Reviewers visit was undertaken by means of a detailed analysis and verification approach to essential aspects related to the implementation of the European Statistics Code of Practice at Statistics Portugal and the 5 ONA, grounded on a self-assessment and evidence-based approach of the practices and procedures presented.
The conclusions of the Peer Review for Portugal are contained in a Report prepared by the Reviewers, in which 15 recommendations are formulated, and also identify the strengths and innovative practices in the implementation of this Code. (Peer Review report).
The recommendations will lead to an Improvement Action Plan, duly scheduled, involving both Statistics Portugal and the 5 ONA, to be prepared by October 2023.
