VI Conferência estatística da CPLP
VI CPLP Statistical Conference
Entre os dias 8 a 10 de junho de 2015,
realizou-se em Díli, Timor-Leste, a VI
Conferência estatística da CPLP. Este
evento contou coma presença dos Presidentes e Diretores-
Gerais dos INEs da CPLP, assim como de palestrantes
convidados do Governo de Timor-Leste, de instituições
internacionais e países parceiros de Timor-Leste.
O encontro dos responsáveis dos Serviços de Relações
Externas e Cooperação dos países CPLP, no dia 8 de junho,
marcou o início
dos trabalhos da
Conferência. A

desafios impostos pela adoção dos Objetivos de
Desenvolvimento Sustentável. A revolução estatística foi
também abordada, particularmente à luz do lema do
próximo Dia mundial da Estatística: 'Better Data. Better
Lives'. No dia de encerramento, em sessão restrita aos
Presidentes e DGs, abordaram-se vários temas e projetos
de interesse comum, dos quais se destacam: Balanço do
Programa de Capacitação dos PALOP e Timor-Leste;
Publicação “CPLP em Números”; Projeto “Estatísticas das
Migrações”; Prioridades da atividade estatística dos INEs e
Censos da População eHabitação.
A próxima Conferência está prevista para 2017,
tentativamente emS. Tomé e Príncipe.
The VI CPLP Statistical Conference was held between the
8th and 10th of June in Dili, Timor-Leste. This event
gathered the Presidents and Directors-general of the NSIs
of CPLPMember States, as well as invited speakers from the
Timorese Government, international organizations and
partner countries.
The meeting of Heads of External Relations and
Cooperation of CPLP countries, on 8th June, marked the
start of proceedings of the Conference. The official opening
on 9th June served as a platform for debate of
multidimensional and cross-cutting issues, such as the
statistical challenges posed by the adoption of the
Sustainable Development Goals. The so-called 'Statistical
Revolution' was also a source of debate, namely in the light
of the World Statistics Day motto: 'Better Data. Better
Lives'. The final day was reserved to a restricted session of
the NSIs Presidents and DGs in which several topics were
debated, namely those closely related to cooperation
prospects within the community, such as: the state of play
of the on-going Training Programme for the National
Statistical Systems of the Portuguese-speaking African
Countries and Timor-Leste; the publication “CPLP in
Figures”; the project “CPLP Migration Statistics”; the
preparations for the housing and population Census rounds
of 2015 and 2020 and the statistical activity annual
priorities of eachNSI.
The next Conference is expected to be held in 2017 and it is
likely to take place in Sao Tome and Principe.
