1. Enquanto Presidente em exercício da Conferência
Estatística da CPLP, que balanço faz da VI Conferência
Estatística, que decorreu em Díli, e quais as
conclusões e recomendações, adotadas pela
Conferência, que destaca como mais importantes
para as atividades dos INEs membros da
Comunidade?
As President -in-Office of the 6th CPLP Statistical
Conference, what is your overview of this event, which
took place in Dili, and what conclusions and
recommendations would you underline as being the
most significant for the official statistical activity
within the Community?
Em primeiro lugar, gostaria de louvar e agradecer a
participação dos EstadosMembros da CPLP, tais como:
Angola, Cabo Verde, Moçambique, Portugal e São
Tomé e Príncipe, pelo seu tempo e disponibilidade
para estarem presentes na VI Conferência Estatística,
que teve lugar em Díli, Timor Leste, entre 8 e 10 de
junho.
O ponto mais significativo da conferência dos
Presidentes e Diretores-Gerais dos INEs dos Estados-
membros da CPLP foi a discussão dos seguintes
tópicos:
1. A transição de ODM para ODS, que se focou na
Revolução Estatística e BigData;
2. OProjeto de Capacitação Estatística;
3. A experiência trocada entre os Estados
Membros.
As mais importantes conclusões e recomendações da
Conferência foramas seguintes:
i) a recomendação para submissão de um novo
programa de capacitação estatística;
ii) a recomendação para um projeto de cooperação
entre os serviços de relações internacionais dos INE;
iii) a aposta no reforço da cooperação Sul/Sul; iv) a
aprovação da brochura bianual “CPLP emnúmeros” e
v) a aprovação do “Manual de Boas Práticas e
P r o c e d i m e n t o s d e
Cooperação Estatística da
CPLP”.
First of all, I would like to
appreciate and thank the
participation of CPLP
Member States, such as:
Ango l a , Cape Ve rde ,
Mozambique, Portugal
and São Tome Principe, for their time and availability
to attend the sixth Statistical Conference, which was
held inDili, Timor Leste, fromJune 8 to 10.
The significant point of the conference of the
Presidents and Director Generals of CPLP member
states' NSIswas the discussion on the following issues:
1. The transition of MDG's to SDG's, which
focused on theData Revolution and BigData;
2. The Capacity Building Project;
3. Exchanged experience among the member
states.
T h e m o s t i m p o r t a n t c o n c l u s i o n s a n d
recommendations of the Conference were the
following:

The recommendation on the submission of a
newstatistical capacity building programme;

The recommendation on a cooperation project
between the External Relations and
Cooperation Units of each of the CPLP National
Statistical Institutes;
?
An i nc r eas e i n t he commi tment to
strengthening South-South cooperation
?
The approval of the biannual brochure “CPLP in
Figures”; and
?
The approval of a Handbook on Good Practices
in Statistical Cooperation
