Statistics Portugal has important contributions on the way I will draw for the rest of my life when I
consider my colleagues, friends and my professional inclinations. My traineeship period became
unforgettable and easier with my colleagues' willingness on being helpful on every little detail and
pleasant at the same time at Statistics Portugal's Geoinformation Unit, all of which can also be easily put
forward for all Portuguese people. With the adequacy of opportunities provided for me, I have never
come across with a problem like losing valuable time. On the other hand, via this traineeship, I found the
opportunity to expand my scope with the help of my colleagues who were so enthusiastic to share their
information about their specialization which was geographical information systems. By this way, now I
can see the competence in me to open different doors. I believe I have somehow paid back their
endeavors by the studies I have accomplished at Statistics Portugal. For these reasons, I am so indebted
and thankful tomy colleagues.
There are of course other benefits of being in Lisbon. Its historical background, castles, palaces, tranquil
streets and nature are other grandeurs which made this traineeship unique. While I was developing
myself professionally, I lived completely in another world without feeling like a stranger which is
completely particular for Portugal. Even if I stayed in Lisbon for a very short time like 3,5months, sure I will
come back here sometime just because I missed the tranquilitywhich is hanging on the air.

Cooperação com a China
Cooperation with China
No dia 26 de Novembro de 2012, o INE de Portugal recebeu uma visita de trabalho do INE da China, de
seis pessoas, entre as quais o seuVice-Presidente, Sr. Li Qiang.
O propósito foi o de obter conhecimentos sobre o funcionamento do nosso sistema estatístico e o de
partilhar experiências, entre outras, nas áreas de Controlo de Dados, Sistema de Metadados, Registos
Administrativos, utilizaçãodeDados Administrativos no INE, Comunicação e Segurança Tecnológica, etc.
A ação teve o apoio técnico de vários departamentos e serviços do INE de Portugal: nomeadamente
Metodologia e Sistemas de Informação, Recolha de Informação, Estatísticas Económicas e Relações
Externas e Cooperação.
On 26 November, 2012, Statistics Portugal welcomed a
study visit from six participants from NBS China, namely
its Deputy Commissioner,Mr.Li Qiang.
The aim of this visit was to share experiences, among
others issues, on the functioning of the Portuguese
statistical system, data quality control, statistical
metadata system, Business Registers, the use of
administrative sources in Statistics Portugal,
communication and security technologies.
The technical assistance was provided by experts from
several units of Statistics Portugal.
