Statistical Cooperation with
NSI-Mozambique
During the first semester of 2014, NSI-
Mozambique was the main partner in what
concerns bilateral cooperation. We can indeed
outline the celebration of two statistical
cooperation instruments with this country: a
Protocol for Statistical Cooperation between
Statistics Portugal and NSI-Mozambique and a
contract on CPI, short-term analysis and short-
term indicators.
The Protocol was signed in January and
establishes the technical and scientific
cooperation for the production and dissemination
of official statistics, acting as a framework for
future statistical cooperation activities between
the two institutions.
In June a contract was also signed between both
NSIs, in the areas of CPI, short-term analysis and
short-term indicators. The contract aims to
consolidate and develop the work that has been
accomplished in these areas until now. In this
framework, a study visit took place, for the kick-
off of the project on short-term indicators.
During this semester the following actions have
also taken place: a meeting on Housing Statistics
with the Ministry of Public Construction of
Mozambique, by invitation of the Office for
Strategy and Studies and the Directorate-general
of Economic Activities of theMinistry of Economy;
and two study visits from NSI-Mozambique to
Portugal on Business Statistics and Business
Registers, with the collaboration of the National
Register of Collective Persons and of the Agency
for AdministrativeModernization of Portugal.
